About Me
Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m from Chicago, IL and Jacksonville, FL originally. I’ve been in the Blue Ridge Mountains area and I attended Appalachian State University for a masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I come from cities and beaches, but have fallen in love with the mountains. I have worked in residential, crisis, schools and community mental health settings. I love animals, cooking, the arts, camping, design, literature, film and so much more. I can mesh with different interests and strive to understand clients on a fundamental level. I have studied personality types and model a non-judgmental stance, while providing a safe space to discuss exciting or challenging topics. I never mind revisiting topics that may need more support or reviewing thoughts or feelings that may feel hard to discuss. I have many years of experience working with children, teenagers, young adults and truly enjoy working with individuals and couples on reducing stress and meeting goals. I have a background of working with trauma, identity and relationships. I have a scope of comfortability treating any diagnosis including anxiety and ADHD. I am eclectic and flexible to utilize different therapy styles to best meet your needs, including CBT, narrative, solution focused, EFT and more. I can provide psychoeducation on diagnosis, neuro divergences and brain function. Most importantly, I strive to work collaboratively with you whether to sit in hard moments, continue discussing struggles or celebrate successes. Confidentiality and ethics are of the utmost importance to me and inform the way I enter the therapy space. My goal is to support you in making whatever changes you feel are needed in your life for a better future. I look forward to cheering you on!
