About Me

I am a creative, compassionate, and caring person ready to support you as you face life’s many challenges. Before I started my career in counseling, I taught environmental education, teaching about our environment and connecting humans with the world around them. Much of the work I have done as a counselor focuses on connection as well- connection through relationships with others along with connection to our own selves. This involves looking at places we are stuck, challenges that have come up, and finding ways to work through those challenges.

I take a holistic approach to counseling and care about how you are managing whatever comes your way. I have experience working in addictions counseling as well as assisting clients through grief and loss, major life transitions, mental illness, trauma, finding meaning and purpose, and chronic pain and/or illness. I strongly believe in the mind and body connection. In sessions, I may offer to teach mindfulness skills that foster this connection by bringing awareness to the present moment. With more awareness of our own thoughts, emotions, and physical reactions, we can feel better equipped to take steps towards positive change. I also understand that sometimes it can be easier to process something in a creative way. If this is the case, I offer Expressive Arts therapeutic techniques. Whatever we do or talk about in therapy is guided by the client- I am here to walk with you on your path to healing and personal growth. I do this by creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for clients to share their experiences. I welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds. I look forward to working with you!

In my free time, I enjoy flower farming, writing, rollerskating, dancing, meditating, spending time with friends and family, and reading.
