About me:
You deserve dignity and respect in a
non-judgmental environment to discuss and learn to improve your life
experiences. Our experiences from the past can frame our potential perceptions
of our future. These perceptions can create feelings and thoughts that stop our
quality of life. It is my belief that all people can control their outcomes to
improve their life experiences. I am honored to be a part of the process to
assist you in improving your quality of life.
I have been providing mental health services for over 20 years. I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, residential programs, and outpatient services with a variety of populations from children to adults. I have worked with individuals, families and couples with all types of struggles from severe mental illness to daily life struggles. I have seen many successes over the span of my career. The foundation of these successes come from an informed, open, direct relationship based on mutual trust and respect. I chose this career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker because it is my firm personal and professional belief that there is no greater good than serving others.
I began working in human services in 1988 with children with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities. I knew within days of my employment that human services was my passion. I moved through a variety of educational and academic experiences to improve my understanding and abilities. I graduated from Winston Salem State University in 1996 with a B.A. in Sociology/Social Welfare. I graduated from East Carolina University in 2001 with a Master’s in Social Work. I was fully licensed in 2006. I have been providing effective, efficient and quality services for my clients since.
