About Me
Helping others restore hope and navigate obstacles to joy and contentment, such as fear, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and self-esteem issues, is a deep passion and calling of mine. I obtained my B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999. My professional and volunteer experience in the mental health and human services fields spans working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, physical and developmental differences, and substance abuse disorders. I also have the benefit of 15 years of professional experience in the corporate world. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University, in Boone, NC, where I moved at the age of five.
The personal and professional wisdom that I have gained throughout my life journey, my education, and my unrelenting interest in helping ease the human experience have prepared me to serve others in this unique capacity. My work is inclusive, across all spiritual, religious and cultural backgrounds, and all walks of life.
Whether you are navigating a major life transition or a day-to-day challenge, I welcome the opportunity to help support and honor your experience, deepen your understanding of the issue(s) at hand, and together explore practical solutions and strategies for a more comfortable and empowering journey.
