About Me
As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student completing my final semester of graduate school, I look forward to matriculating as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in August 2025. My passion for this work stems from a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of the therapeutic process. I am committed to providing ethical, compassionate, and evidence-based care, fostering a collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to navigate life's challenges.

My counseling approach is grounded in person-centered theory, emphasizing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the inherent strengths within each individual. I believe in the capacity for all to overcome adversity, striving to help clients recognize and draw upon their unique strengths to build the lives they envision. By offering a "mental health toolbox," I aim to equip clients with practical skills and strategies that promote meaningful and lasting change. While my theoretical orientation is flexible as I continue to grow as a counselor, I firmly believe that nurturing the therapeutic relationship is paramount.

Throughout my academic and personal journey, I have cultivated skills and knowledge that shape my work as a counselor. My undergraduate degree in Psychology provided valuable experience as a research assistant, a teaching assistant, and a volunteer in community-centered organizations. However, my academic journey was frequently interrupted by health challenges. Much of my twenties was spent navigating the complexities of physical and mental health struggles brought on by autoimmune diseases. These experiences inspired my own therapeutic journey, where I discovered a deep passion for the power of internal work and its potential to foster healing in all areas of life. These personal challenges have reinforced the importance of creating a safe, authentic, and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.

Beyond my studies, I am passionate about mental health advocacy and fostering well-being within the community. My areas of interest include supporting clients in addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, chronic illness, relationship and life transitions. I am particularly drawn to supporting individuals navigating the intersections of personal growth, societal/familial expectations, and the pursuit of self-acceptance. I understand that navigating change can feel overwhelming, even impossible, but believe in helping clients recognize their boundless capacity to create and nurture the life they seek. Many achievements in life once felt unattainable to our past selves, and the beauty of change lies in our ability to choose it. Given that thought patterns, like behaviors, are habits, I tend to gravitate towards behavioral modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to provide clients with actionable tools to use beyond our sessions.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy creative pursuits such as illustration, cooking, and spending time in nature. These activities help me find balance and maintain my well-being, a perspective I bring into my work with clients. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of their healing journey and to witness the incredible resilience each person brings to the counseling process.
